  • Soccer: the World is After a Football

Posted on January 13th, 2010 admin No comments

Most people around the world at least know what it is, even if they don’t have a special love to this sport. Also known as football, soccer is the most celebrated team sport, played in almost all parts of the world, except where it is too costly to get a ball. We have several heroes and even more antiheroes in this game. While we can’t forget the magic of Pele’s legs, we can’t also forget how legendry Maradona has thrown away his reputed career by succumbing to cocaine and ephedrine in two occasions and leading his retirement life with an overweight, ill-healthy body.

Soccer has given some unforgettable memories. It has also given us some forgettable memories too. You can’t point one moment the most memorable – however, the truth is soccer is such a wonderful game that you can pick half a dozen moments and they are all ‘the greatest moments’ of a century and a millennium.

There isn’t something so attractive and fascinating as soccer. There can be other games that evoke tension, drama and pull a big crowd. However, nothing comes close to the magic of soccer. It is not just about the world cup matches – club matches also go down the wire, letting their fans worldwide watch the climax with crossed fingers.

People around the world watch in anticipation, the results of matches, even if they are played in the United States or in the Europe, the excitement goes deep into the cities and villages of Australia, India, South Africa and almost all countries of the world. There are fans who enjoy American soccer, European football, club football and great football at all levels. It is one great thing to have footballers going for the best results, while spending their blood and sweat.

To be part of a soccer team is a special experience. You can be a defender, goal keeper, forward, goal scorer, goal stopper, facilitator of goals – you have your role cut out in the field. When you deliver your task, it is glory for your team. If you fail, it is tears for you and your team. It may be just a sport – however, like in war, winning is the only thing in soccer. A failure is a disaster – you are destined to experience failures too.

Several years of experience, toiling, sweat and blood will have its pay one day. Soccer players all dream of one day, the day in which the whole world looks at them in with admiring eyes. Nobody can take it away from them, on their day of honour.

Soccer is the all consuming game. It is not just about boots and balls, but also about the brain and the heart. If you haven’t been bitten by the soccer bug yet, you seriously lack something – maybe a sportive spirit.

  • Italian Serie a – Beckham Helped Ac Milan Jump to Second Place After Beating Lazio

Posted on January 11th, 2010 admin No comments

The English midfielder of 33 years old David Beckham and his current team AC Milan jumped to the second place of the standings of the Italian Serie A by beating Lazio in great way 3-0 this last Sunday at Rome. The Englishman, after scoring twice in the last four games as an AC Milan player, added two assists this last game against Lazio, setting up goals to the Brazilian striker Pato in the first half at minute 42 and to the Italian midfielder Massimo Ambrosini in the beginning of the second half.

Since Beckham started his participation with the AC Milan, the club has been unbeaten, winning 3 games and tiding just one match. With these last results the club has not only increased their chances at the table but also has raised the team’s performance. With Beckham inclusion Ancelotti has fixed the midfield problems and the lack chemistry with the strikers, which had been also an issue at the beginning of the season, and has build up a well-developed and more balanced team.

Moreover, despite having a muscle injury in the last game, Beckham looked great against Lazio by playing the 90 minute mark and adding the contribution of the two assists goals to his teammates. After those two scorings, Kaka ended the victory with a great goal at minute 38. This victory represented for AC Milan a second spot in the standings while the leaders Inter tied against Torino and Juventus lost against Cangliari. Currently Inter has 50 points, AC Milan has 44 points and Juventus is now third with 43 points.

For his part, the Vice-president of the AC Milan Adriano Galliani expressed that the club intentions are to acquire David Beckham since the club is doing so great with the English player who has contributed to these amazing results.

“We’re desperate to sign him and I will keep hoping until the last possible moment. When he first came to us I thought he would do well but I never thought to such a degree. It would be terrible to lose him so we’ll make little overtures to try to keep hold of him and then our fans can have a great party when Beckham stays,” stated Galliani.

Likewise, AC Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his satisfaction with Beckham’s performance and has included the English midfielder in the UEFA Cup squad list for the two matches against Werder Bremen, which will be played on February 18th and 26th. Nevertheless, Ancelotti hopes for negotiations to turn out well so Beckham can stay with the club and play the rest of the season and the UEFA Cup.

The Beckham’s comeback to LA Galaxy is scheduled to be on March 9th, but AC Milan hopes they can negotiate with the US club to extend the loan until the end of the Italian League season or to acquire David Beckham with a good deal. However, it is impossible to know yet what will happen with AC Milan intentions and LA Galaxy decision and what will be Beckham’s decision at the end of this month. Whatever he decide we hope to keep watching his great football skills and talent during his time with AC Milan and later with the team he chooses to stay.
