DC UNITED SOCCER STARS “SHAKE IT” UP IN NEW FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES LOBBY
Posted on May 17th, 2010 25 comments
www.FairfieldInn.com Midfielder Ben Olsen is the brunt of a prank as he checks out of a Fairfield Inn & Suites. Cushions are tossed, players tripped with Ben getting even in the end. Metro Station’s “Shake It” song drives the action.25 responses to “DC UNITED SOCCER STARS “SHAKE IT” UP IN NEW FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES LOBBY”

GOOAAALLL!!!!! Excellent video.Using the MLS players and the FairField Inn to market and promote two brands.Towards the end of the video one of the players says “We are professional soccer players don’t even think about trying this in a FairField Inn & Suites.” On top of that he does mention he looks for friendly people, good night sleep & free breakfast, its totally FairField Inn.And let;s not forget the free internet.P.S I work for Marriott International.

I’ve worked at a Marriott Fairfield for years, and though the commercial is catchy, it’s not reality. I would get royally chewed out by guests if “cool soccer players” were trying to be pimp in my lobby. Marriott dropped the ball on this one. My hotel is for guests that want to sleep. If they want to be retro and party, they can go down the street to the competition. I’m all for having a good time, but as a front desk associate, I hear enough complaints from guests as it is.

Thanks for using MLS players in a Marriott ad campaign! I’m a Marriott associate and I love MLS and the US national team, so IMO this video is a marriage of two very cool things.

Those Mentos work every time.
Ben Olsen did knock the door off its track in one of the takes. -

I just got out of jail… I was caught kicking a soccer ball in the fairfield inn down the street. When I busted the automatic door’s window, I held up a pack of Mentos. Thats when I ran…

There was a disclaimer at the end; but unfortunately it’s probably not going to stop some moron from trying it anyway. Hotel clerks the world over are hating Marriott right now for posting this ad….

now, would they really let people kick a soccer ball around in the lobby?

That was a hand ball at 1:22 which would have led to a second yellow card and a sending off! LOL

This video is great fun! The disclaimer at the end, ‘We are professional soccer players, don’t try this at Fairfield Inn” was hilarious!
Haven’t stayed at Fairfield for a while, will have to now!

He was being kind to the housekeeper who only had a sticky note for a yellow card. He does glare at her. Did you like the shot at the end?
