i am a female soccer i have played for three years and some rep stuff i am also a referee so i know all the rules here they are the basic ones.
okay so basically here is how it goes.
there is a field split in two seperate halfs…
and two teams.
there is a goal on each end…
and each team has a goal to “defend”.the main goal for soccer is to score in the other teams goal.
there are a lot of different positions…
goalie- they can use hands. they are in the goal and stop the ball from going into the net. there is a Penelty Box (PK box) and if they go outside that, they cant use their hands anymore.center defender (sweeper)- they are the defenders (the players closer to the goal) in the center of the defensive line. they have to try to make sure no one gets a goal on them.
side defenders- the defenders on the outside. basically the same job as the center defender…just you dont rely on them as much…they stop the other team from getting in on the outside.
center midfeild- stays in the centerish area of the feild. trys to get the ball up to the forwards.
side midfeilds- go up and down the sidelines doing what ever they need to do to help.
side forwards- people who try to score comming from the sides.
center forwards (striker)- they try to score in the other teams goal.
RULES AND FOULS-
*hand ball- if you touch the ball with your hands…free kick for the other team.
pushing (with your hands)- if you push someone with your hands then the other team gets a free kick
tripping- purposfully tripping an opponent, free kick.
slide tackling from behind- self explanetory… free kick.
offsides- if you kick the ball behind the defenders and the other team is waiting behind the defense…its offsides. free kick.
thats basically it…
if you get fouled in the PK box…
then you get a PK kick- a free shot on goal.

hey girl.
~ok, so the game is 90 minutes long, two halves(each is 45 minutes), and halftime is 15 minutes, there are no time outs or anything, so if the game stops for an injury or something, that extra time is added on to the end of the game.~ 11 players on the field at a time, unless one player is ejected out with a red card for breaking a rule, then there can be 10, 9, or whatever. yellow cards are warnings, if you get two in one game, you are also ejected
~there are 3 substitutions allowed in a game
~ umm, um, impress him by talking about the english premiere league (mention teams like manchester united, or chelsea) or the spanish league (real madrid or barcalona) or the italian league (ac milan) you pick…they’re all good!
i hope this helps!!
oh and mention you’re excited about the world cup next year in south africa. say you think spain will win.

OK Soccer (football) is analogous to basketball but you play only with you feet
team of 12 The goal keeper
2-4 quarterbacks ( don’t exactly remember)
the rest are front (attack team )
1) You start in the middle passing ball to other team members & can use your head BUT CAN’T TOUCH THE BALL WITH YOUR HANDS
2) you advance the ball & follow it no body is allowed to be ahead of the ball on the way to the goal(Foul)
3) can’t touch the other team players or shove them(foul)
This is the beauty of football (Soccer) SPORTSMANSHIP
No head gears & no protection needed maybe just below the knees in case of accidental kick(still a foul)
You play 3 games each is 1/2 an hour
2 out of 3 game winner is the winner of the game
The beauty of the game is in the art of handling the ball with the feet 7 the speed of running & the art of scoring the goal
Now the goal keeper can do anything to grab the ball from using his hands to throwing his body on the ball but still can’t hit you or shove you with his hands he should only dive & aim at the ball to prevent you from shooting it in his goal I hope this helps !!!!! -
