just run one your extra time...use ankle wieghts when you do...but make sure they aren't to heavy..i use three pounds during normal work outs....also lower body lifting...making your legs stronger will also make you faster...i also play right mid for school and there is a lot of running so extra stuff will help...do some sprints every now and then on your own....to calm down i listen to music on my ipod...loud enough to drown others out..but that kinda makes my team mad at times cause it gets really loud...my team does a "quite time" for about ten minutes before each game where we sit in a dark room in the field house by our field and focus on the game there

If u lack speed, then make up for it in other ways. When dribbling the idea is to keep the ball as close to your feet as possible, that way when someone tries to tackle you you can allways get to the ball first and sidestep them. Sometimes acceleration is more important that actual top speed especially when trying to go past a defender.

Work on your 1st touches, and your week foot. Try one two combinitations to get past the defenders onto the wing, being able to cross is vital. Learn how to bend the ball in.

The more you practise the better u will become, look at other players and especially professional one to get ideas and mimic their skill moves.

ps. dont become predictable.

Quick light touches of toes....explosive ankle.Sprint Speed is a combination of long strides and and alternating arm pumping. The quicker your arms move the, the faster you can get your legs to the next LONG stride. Developing your weaker foot is an invaluabe asset on the pitch. Be agressive, let your mark know early that you won't be pushed around. Be patient. Trust in your teamates & play with passion. Don't be afraid to have a GO! RUN RUN RUN!

I am a left midfielder and I do a lot of running with a smaller-sized ball to gain control and skill. It also helps with conditioning. Try using your weak foot a lot too. I sometimes only practice with my weak foot, that way the muscles there will develop and won't be way smaller than the ones in my right which then would cause a big problem.

Make sure you stretch your hamstrings after and before running.

Do a lot of polyometrics (such as jumproping) they help a lot in soccer

Before the games, me and my friends just start joking around how we are going to beat the crap out of the other team...:)

Make sure you warm up before the game, but you probably know that already...
