None. He’s not playing. He was hurt brfore he came over, but the idiots (Lalas) rushed him into an exhibition game to satisfy the media hordes.

he’s being more detrimental to the american’s perception of the game, than good, like it was originally intended. too much hype . looks like they will have to wait for him to recover and try again next season

As of right now….. no difference at all

Cuauhemtemoc is difinitely doing a better job in terms of developing the MLS. He has so many fans and he assists so many goals and even scores sometimes. He’s a great player and is helping this league along

None, they’re worst now than they’ve ever been…..not that they were any good to begin with.

Not much. How cant he make a difference when hes hurt and not playing. And how often do you hear about soccer on Sportscenter or any other highlight show. Unless its a channel dedicated to soccer like FSC or Setanta you dont hear much about the MLS or any other league. Besides all the hype has gone down and nobody seems to really care anymore. I think if he would have stayed healthy since he arrived or avoided the injury against Pachuca he might of made a difference because he still had people wanting to watch him but now when he returns many people wont care and wont watch.

Not much… just brought a little more publicity at the beginning but no one cares anymore. I didn’t think he would help the sport much in the USA. Beckham is past his prime and soccer will never be big in the USA. Its like taking Jordan and bringing him over to Europe to play basketball. You see the picture now?

He plays for a much shitier league-MLS…How many high class players do you see in that league, besides David Beckham??? NO ONE! He gets paid more but the game pace is much slower but more aggressive.Football(soccer) in North America is played very differently from European football(soccer). The pace is very different and almost 2 times as many tackles and injuries in a game.Hope this answered your question

Nothing until he recovers and shows what he has. One cannot live on past glories you know! His reputation preceded him – and he can only SCORE if he eventually shows his skill. Unfortunately GALAXY still keeps on losing – so how? A white elephant of an investment? Only time will tell

The only difference he is really making is this: people love Beckham, meaning that the LA Galaxies are getting wayy more publicity than they did pre-Beckham. Also, Herbalife’s name is getting out because Sport’s Authority sells Beckham jersey’s with Herbalife on the front, and like I said, everyone loves Beckham.

He is a star I guess. (He was, when he was young at least)

He has not made that much of a difference or as much of a difference as expected but keep in mind that when he made his debut here in the US, he was injured. I do think that he would have made much more of a difference if he wasn’t injured and that goes without saying.
Now all of you who said he made no difference at all should lighten up and cut him some slack because he was injured when he made his debut. Just how much can be expected from a player who is injured and has their playing time very limited because they are injured. As far as Beckham making a difference,….just wait till next season. I’m not a supporter of the Galaxy but I think they will have a far better season next year so long as Beckham is healthy and not injured for any significant amount of time. He’s made a little bit of a difference even with the limited amount of playing he’s had so far this season because of injury.

A. When he played he was actually very useful on the field (that shows the rest of the world how bad MLS actually is, along with Angel scoring goals like crazy)
B. When he plays, the US’s own players get mentioned even less. (I am sure all of Asia and maybe half of the states knows Beckham plays for the Galaxy, I dont imagine 90% of them can name any one of his teammates. And sadly the icon of American Soccer is among them.)
C. When he plays, he wear a soccer jersey. (Ever since Beckham came to the US, a lot more people are wearing soccer jerseys. It is the hip thing. The soccer jersey people must be really happy)
