Has anyone else seen the greatest soccer goal ever?
Posted on December 21st, 2009 3 commentsAbout 20 years ago, I saw a highlight of what I would consider to be the greatest play in sports. During a soccer game, one player passed the ball to his teammate who was standing near the outside of the penalty box. Since the ball was over his head and he was facing the goal, instead of flipping over backwards and kicking it with his toe like a typical scissor kick, he flipped over forward and scored by kicking it with his heel. Is anyone else familiar with this goal and where it happened? Does any video of it exist? I’ve tried searching YouTube and the internet with no luck.

how about the great Maradona’s goal? he just tricked 5 opposite defenders along with their goalie. that was so good!

never seen or heard of a full flip but i’ve definately seen goals scored with the heel, around 2004 I think was a recent one

Didn’t Hugo Sanchez score a scorpion kick gol with Madrid? Im pretty sure that is what you’re looking for. It looked similar to how Higuita made his once-in-lifetime save against England.
