    • rossissocoolreally

ok i didnt no that tanx for explaning it

    • no.
According to football rules, the ref has valid any penalty. if he had missed it, he would only have missed it ( like in a friendly match i think with sweden).
e´plaining myself, if u grab me and i fell, and then go up and score it´s not a vaalid goal, it´s a penalty.

    • BarcelonaSpain100

Maradona may sound like an italian lastname but its not…the lastname is from Spain

    • Lol notice when he sprints and dribble the ball, his shoulders were so tensed and lifted so high that he look like a running mushroom. And messi’s goal is so dam bloody similar to this goal, both dribbling thru multiple defenders, round up the keeper, falls when they shoot, and ran off to celebrate in the same direction.

    • In 1986 it looked as if he was from another planet:-)

    • DIEGO MARADONA IS FOTBAL GENIUS!!!

    • fuck off own goal ,pure genius

    • stfu up dont hate bitch

    • Do us a favor and shut the fuck up like the other guy suggested. While you’re at it.. go fuck yourself too.

    • rossissocoolreally

it he had missed that it would of been a penealty

    • Best goal ever!!!

    • MrSouthAmerica…shut the fuck up

    • This game took place in the heat of Mexico, in the smog of Mexico City and against a team not used to these conditions. On top of that, you had a player, Maradona, who was high on coke and amphetamines at the time who scored against a defense that could barely hold its own arse due to the oppresive conditions.
Maradona scored that goal, not Terry Butcher. It looks like a toepoke to me. My initial reaction to this goal was a Butcher mistake, but the replay said otherwise.

    • the greatest goal of all times….sad i was not born at that time to c this goal live…he is an one man army

    • the self goal theory is something the brits made up to somehow save face and to somehow discredit maradona destroying there defense. there not men enough to admit they got owned so they cry about it every chance they can. they should spend a little less time crying and a little more time going to the dentist and fixing there snaggle tooth teeth

    • I should add that others – and not merely England supporters – agree with me. On that point, English supporters are entitled to feel aggrieved with the first goal. Wouldn’t you be? And most of them have behaved very philosophically in the circumstances.

    • Try to calm down. There is no point shouting. We can read what you have to say and evaluate it accordingly. I agree that the way he dribbles the ball from the half way line demonstrates incredible skill. And as far as I am concerned he is one of the best footballers who have ever graced a football pitch. However, my contention quite simply is that the ball was in fact an own goal. There is no need to get angry or aggressive.

    • I can’t belive that you really think that the incompetence of Butcher led to this goal!!! and not the speed and control with the ball, the dribling techniques, the accuracy in the moves, that left more than half english team behind. THIS ACTION IS CONSIDER BY FIFA ONE OF TOP TEN GOALS OF ALL TIMES and no one ever doubt of giving that gol to Maradona until you come…..

    • No – he may have declined to disclose it to cover his own embarrassment! Would you really have expected him to say ‘it was my incompetence which led to the goal’?

    • You are right. I am from the UK. But you are presumably not aware of the fact that the UK consists of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, I am Scottish and not a supporter of England, I thought the goal was an exceptional one. My point is simply that it seems to me to be an own goal. Now, may I ask you: what is your nationality ?

    • Terry Butcher will no hide this particular supposed own goal for the glory of Diego Mardona!!

    • After almost 24 years, nobody in the soccer lobbies talk about that goal as an own goal not even Butcher or the journalist infront of the action taking the pictures!! but suddenly I fount your comment in youtube and when I check your channel I didn’t surprise that your profile country is UK!
I totally disagree with your affirmation!! Diego Maradona push the ball inside like the soccer history said!

    • I am not sure that anyone would own up to an own goal. If he had I am sure that Maradona would have mocked him. Terry Butcher’s anger was presumably about the previous goal. But, if my analysis is correct, he might also have been angry that his last ditch tackle resulted in the second goal.
